     We will be having our Open House this Saturday from 11-1.  Join us for fun activities and a presentation from our Lower K & KG.  Invite your friends and family.  We hope to see you there!  Also we will be having a visit from a Dentist this week to talk to us about keeping our teeth healthy and clean. Field Trip to Louisville Science Center

We took a trip to the Louisville Science Center in January.  The kids and I had a wonderful time.  We explored all of the exhibits more than once and got a chance to watch the IMAX movie Roar! about lions.  We learned about animals, built many different things, and had fun playing in the Fun Zone where they got to dress up and play with the water table.  I hope you enjoy some of the pictures I took while we were there.

Science

 Sr. Sema teaches Science and Social Studies so I thought it would be nice to post some of the things we do when we're with her.  Here are a few of the activities we've been doing since returning from Winter Break.


We enjoyed exploring the Solar System.  The planets looked so beautiful.  Some of them were hot, some were cold.  We learned that Allah created the most beautiful things in the world and space. -Sr. Sema

Let it Snow! Let it Snow!
We have waiting long enough to see some snowflakes, but it didn't come.  So, we decided to make our own and enjoyed every bit of it. -Sr. Sema

Shape it Up!
We've been learning about shapes and their properties with Mrs. Krystina in Math.  This week we covered how things are made out of different shapes and colors.  This is what we have made with our shapes. -Sr. Sema

The Mitten

This week we learned many exciting things.  We read the story The Mitten by Jan Brett and did many activities to go along with the story.  Below you can see the class with their Mitten retelling bags.  We colored pictures of all the animals in the story and as each animal went into the mitten we put that animal in our very own mitten.  At the end of the story the bear sneezes a great big sneeze and all the animals come out of the mitten so we all made a great big, "Ah Ah CHOOO!!!" and emptied our bag all over the floor sending our animals everywhere.  The kids and I had a great time doing this lesson.

Welcome!

Parents, families, and kiddos!

    Welcome to our blog.  Just for you =)  I hope you enjoy visiting as much as I love updating this weekly with our wonderful activities and events that happen in our classroom everyday.  I have an absolutely amazing group of students, which I refer to as my kids.  I take so much pride in teaching them.  As a short introduction below is a slide show of one of the many fun parts of our day, Center Time.  They enjoy Center Time which we do daily right after lunch.  I would say it's one of the favorite parts of the day.  Not just for them, but for me as well.  During this time I group the students and we rotate to different activities.  I enjoy this because I get to watch them and see how they interact with each other.  Also in certain activities like our "Cut and Create" center the students show off their imagination and creativity by cutting shapes and designs and using those to create a picture.  We've seen castles with princesses, houses, robots, and many other things.  Please enjoy and I'll be posting more very soon!
